Set in Kinshasa, Alain Gomis's drama follows a bar singer whose son is badly injured in a motorcycle accident, sending her on a desperate search through the city and her own past to save him, and won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2017 Berlinale as well as the Etalon d'Or de Yennenga at FESPACO.
Fun fact: Gomis, a Senegalese director, set the story entirely in the Democratic Republic of Congo rather than his home country.
